Financial Policy

The Financial Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service and describes payment methods and other financial matters related to Bookimed services.

How much do Unithmed services cost?

Patients using Unithmed may select clinics and their medical staff, contact medical centers, and arrange travel itineraries free of charge via Unithmed.
You only pay for medical consultations and other treatments at the clinic in accordance with the invoice issued by the clinic.
However, users are still required to pay a deposit via the website to confirm an appointment, and the treatment price will be reduced accordingly by the amount of this deposit.
In addition, where conditions permit, you may choose to prepay the full cost of medical services at the clinic in accordance with these Terms of Service and applicable service rules.

How does Unithmed get paid?

In addition to the confirmation deposit, we receive a commission from medical centers, as we perform the functions of their international patient department and handle international travel-related services on their behalf.
Pursuant to our contracts with clinics, neither Unithmed nor the clinics charge users any additional fees.
When patients of Unithmed contact us, the price they pay for medical services is the same as if they had approached the clinic directly.
Prices may even be lower, as some medical centers offer exclusive discounts to Unithmed patients.

Does Unithmed receive payment for listing clinic information on the website?

Clinics are not required to pay to be listed on our platform, but they must undergo a rigorous and objective screening process.
You may read our [Clinic Selection Policy] for further details. The selection is based on the medical center’s professional characteristics, without regard to financial criteria.

Does Unithmed receive payment for placing clinics in specific positions within our directory?

We strive to maintain complete objectivity.
If a clinic wishes to have its information featured at the top of a specific directory, it may opt for paid promotion. In such cases, the clinic’s listing will be clearly marked as “Promoted”.
You may find more information about clinic rankings in our [Clinic Ranking Policy].

Where do we get website prices and how often are they updated?

It is important to understand that any prices listed on the website or in clinic treatment plans are provisional and provided by our partner clinics.
Medical centers may adjust the scope and cost of treatment based on examination results or the patient’s response to treatment. Furthermore, clinics may not notify us of price changes, which may result in outdated price information being displayed.
Please submit an inquiry via the website to obtain the most complete and up-to-date information for your specific case.

Can the final price differ from the estimated price?

Yes — the final price may be either higher or lower. The main factor is the extent of the procedure, which may vary based on diagnostic findings or the body’s response to treatment.

How is treatment payment made?

The price of medical services at the clinic will be reduced by the amount of the confirmation deposit paid by the patient.
For medical services provided by the clinic, patients typically only pay after receiving an invoice directly from the clinic. Unithmed is not an intermediary or party to these financial transactions and assumes no liability therefor.
Patients of Unithmed may pay by cash, bank card, or bank transfer. You may consult our coordinators for specific payment methods available at a particular medical center.
As an additional option, and where permitted by the clinic, you may choose to prepay the full cost of medical services. In this case, you will pay the specified cost of medical services in advance. However, the clinic will only receive the funds once the prepaid medical services have been provided to you. Please note that third-party payment service providers may be involved in processing such payments.

What is the additional deposit required by the clinic?

A clinic may require patients to pay an additional deposit in the form of a prepayment invoice issued by the clinic. This deposit serves as a financial guarantee for the patient’s visit and is separate from the appointment confirmation deposit paid via the website. Once the deposit is paid, the clinic will confirm the date and time of the visit and send an official invitation letter to the patient.
If the final price after treatment is lower than the amount paid as a deposit, the clinic will refund the difference to the patient’s account. If the final price is higher, the patient shall pay the difference.

Do you offer discounts?

We may negotiate discounts with our partner clinics. Such discounts are indicated in the clinic’s disease and treatment catalogs marked with a “Best Offer” icon, and may also be viewed on the special offers page.
